HEALTH AND NUTRITION
The body is its own best doctor.
29 And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that
yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields
seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to
every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which
there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. 31
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the
evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 1:29-2:1
14 He causes the
grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for
the service of man,
That he may bring
forth food from the earth,
15 And wine that
makes glad the heart of man,
Oil to make his
face shine,
And bread which
strengthens man's heart.
Psalms 104:14-16
The River of Life
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of
its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore
twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree
were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it,
and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall
be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor
light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign
forever and ever.
Revelation 22:1-5
Hezekiah's Life
Extended
1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah
the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to
him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die, and
not live.'"
2 Then he turned
his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying, 3 "Remember now,
O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart,
and have done what was good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 And it happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle
court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 5 "Return and tell
Hezekiah the leader of My people, 'Thus
says the LORD, the God of David your father:"I have heard your prayer, I
have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up
to the house of the LORD. 6 And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will
deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will
defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of
My servant David."'"
7 Then Isaiah
said, "Take a lump of figs." So they took and laid it on the boil,
and he recovered.
